Now, theres only so many jazz samples out there so I guess I oughta expand a little but whenever I go say 95bpm plus (ooh the speed is killing me! Make it stop) I can't make a drum rhythm to save my life. Any tips? But not too many, I'll end up sounding like Dre on acid :p

You need to learn to sequence, this is where hand bangin beatmaking might be ok but you can make it hotter step or grid sequencing the track......just subdivide that faster metronome tempo.......start off turning the click track on use eighth note quantization.....and then make the first note the kick....., move to the next measure....put a snare or clap or whatever in there.........move to the 3rd measure you can put some space in the beat to break monotony.....use a shaker in there on that measure but repeat it 4 times on every downbeat of the measure then the next one use the kick...and so on to the last bar....then you can change the quantization and go to 16ths and try placing a kick either b4 another kik......or after one of the snare....I mean you have to experiment with your techniques........then once you get a nice pattern you can copy and paste it to a new one and alter that pattern slightly and use them both together to make it more realistic......by putting in a changeup or break....

It's probably how ur brain is working. I don't have to put as much in a faster beat. U can use double and triple kicks in a slower beat but in a fast joint it might be too much. Think about house music and how fast that is. Most of the time it's only 4 beats like a metronome click and a high hat. boom tick boom tick boom tick... Don't make it that basic but u get the idea.
