Fantom Rack Problems

I recently just got the fantom rack and I'm having problems with it

I can play sounds on it but when i try to record midi with my mpc2500 it doesnt record or play it back.

I have the midi out of my keyboard going to the midi in of my fantom rack and the out of my fantom rack going into the midi in of the mpc so i don't know whats going on can anyone help me?

The track on your MPC needs to me set to the proper midi channel.

i did that its set to channel 1 but its not recording or playing any midi

midi out from mpc to fantom rack, midi in from keyboard to mpc, set channel for mpc track to fantoms operating channel. not to sure if the mpc has a midi echo feature, but thats the term im familiar with.
