rarely i hear of people using a combination of say FL and some external hardware. I understand people using fl with sound modules and such, but im really confused when i hear people say they have an mpc, or sp1200, or asr-10, or a triton connected to FL. To me this makes absoluetly no sense.

Say an mpc connected to FL, why is this done?

A triton connected to FL, bizzare!

i dunno i guess people don't know how to use the sequencers in hardware or they are just using it as midi controllers to load sounds in and out of their hardware, i dunno please explain this to me. I guess thats why its not as common.

Sober, the thing about fl that makes it loses for hip hop in some cases, is that live feel - you get with your drum lines - just imagine for a second, you sitting round a drum machine, and no matter how hard you try you cant beat faster cause you limited to sommin thats holding you back.
thats how it is with computer producing, your limited to a Beats Per Minute count, and its ridiculousy hard to duplicate that hip hop feel, if you dont know your timings and equations - and thats math. No one likes maths, so they just hook everything up, and in this case they're using fL to just record and arrange their sounds or use their hardware to control the samplers and synths in FL studio. The advantage over hardware sequencers, with fruity you can come back and edit, thats very rare and thats why you find many producers are just hooking whateva can be hooked up, when you get your hardware sober , and hook it up you'll understand better the reasons, especially if you have a midi keyboard with over 60 keys, man fruity is no longer fruity when you have a midi controller.

LOL! Krzy K you got me wrong dude, i own and run my own studio. I have vast experience with hardware. What im trying to get is why people would connect an mpc or a triton to FL. For instance an mpc is a sequencer / sampler , and is considered one of the best, why would one connect a sequencer / sampler to FL which is also basically a sequencer sampler? Same with triton, why would you use the fl sequencer when it sucks and not use the triton or the hardware’s sequencer? Thanks for your efforts Krzy K but what you wrote made no sense to me.

thats how it is with computer producing, your limited to a Beats Per Minute count, and its ridiculousy hard to duplicate that hip hop feel,

makes no sense and incorrect.

The advantage over hardware sequencers, with fruity you can come back and edit, thats very rare and thats why you find many producers are just hooking whateva can be hooked up,

sorry but terribly incorrect.

sorry but you didn't help in both your responses either guevara. Ok the fl sequencer doesn't suck for those of you who got heart broken with that statement. I may have been out of line with the last qoute and i have edited out for the sake of the post, but don't get mad when your information is incorrect and i call you on it.

inspecta wu the mpc and triton sequencers are ill too , spend 15 mins with either one and you wont touch fruity loops ever again.

Also please don't post if you have no experience with hardware. I have worked with Fl in the past and yes its probably updated vastly by now but still the concept of these combinations is bizzare to me.
