im really itchin for sum good instrument sounds ,bells strings ,guitar ,synth type sounds the only module i have now is the mo phat and im finding sum use to sum of the sounds but most of them are some gay underwater farts from outter space sounds that i could never seriously use,i dunno wether to expand the mo phatt wit the vintage keys or sell it and put the loot towards jv 5050,anyone wanna add they opinion to my choice here ,i ve heard the demo for the vintage keys on emus site but they were on sum really faced paced songs i couldnt really get an idea of what each instrument sounded like anyone have this vvintage keys rom how u like it

I'm probably not qualified to answer this cause I don't own either piece. But as far as I know the mophatt and its sounds are outdated. If u can sell and get somethin better wit newer fresher sounds y not.

I know the Mo Phatt is a pretty good module. Its got some nice sounds on there. But id sell it and look at the Motif Rack. Ask Class. Im pretty sure he uses that. And i tried it in the store.
Every fuckin sound on there sounds like a real instrument is comin out of your speakers. No underwater farts and shit (i know what you mean). All real instruments.

Its real expensive but you might be able to find it used.

Well if you are just looking for some nice sounds at a good price look at a jv2080 on ebay. I think you can put in like 8 jv cards. There are alot of sound to pick from. It is alittle old but it can be a work horse in the studio.

forget that, go with the jv 1010, its like 220 on ebay. it has all the patches of a 2080 and then some... although the 2080 has the advantage of 8 expansion slots, which is a major plus. the expansions are fairly cehap, about $130 most places.

if you can cop that vintage keys rom, i would also do it a.s.a.p.... those are hard to come by, and even if you dont like it you could sell it down the line for more $$$ than you got it for. its in high demeand ,but there is little supply. its a great rom. i never owned it, but played with it extensively. great sounds, and you will NOT find anything easier to navigate than Emu's interface, guaranteed.

I dont know, but you mightve heard of the Kurzweils prices. And quality of sounds. This has sounds from the PC2 series.

Its worth lookin at whether your gonna buy it or not.

I can really comment about the mo phat module though. I havent really tried it. U guys already know how i feel about the motif(its the shit).
But to be honest i think it comes down to how creative you are. Ive heard people with 7 or 8 top of the line modules who suck ass.
Alot of the time those 10 module guys wonder where i get my sounds. They swear i have a whole rack of shit at my house. When they see that all im using is an MPC and a motif,they shit themsevels. So maybe there is some merrit in that mo -phat. Maybe u just havent figured out how to get the best out of it.

If i were in your shoes i would try to keep the mo-phat and add a new module to the set up. U can never have to many sounds!!!!!!!!!!

yeah they are sum usable sounds thats i have used on it but im runnin out quick and im startin to use the best of the bottom of the barrel now,that kurzweil looks nice ,the thing is tho if i do get a new module ill def have to sacrifice the mo phatt to get it

Youll be growin either way. Stay wit E-MU and get better at it. Or get kurzweil and have new sounds and learn kurzweil. I was really feelin the kurzweil sounds though.

imma try sellin it for a little less than what i bought it for since ive only had it for a few months i paid 350 plus shippin imma try to drop it off for 300 plus shippin, shi looks new out the box,hopefully ill have sum luck
