ahhhhhhhhhhhhh....so "tweet" is where u "skeet skeet".....wait ..hold up...tweet was that one hit wonder r&b singer that missy was licking on! I'm still confused!

tweaking sounds no matter how cheesy can be just what the production doctor ordered to make your track diff't than everyones else's. New producers always yap about having there own distinct sound but don't have a clue of how to get there. "Tweaking" your factory presets saving them and layering "out of the norm" shit is one of the fastest ways to develop that distinctness IMO. Using all factory sounds with next to no "tweaking" makes your track easy to "bite" a.k.a reproduce!

For what its worth - "White Tee" by Franchise, "Laffy Taffy" by D4L, and Knuck "if you Buck" by Crime Mobb (should) have taught us that even FL presets straight out the box can land you a top 40 hit if you create a feeling or "movement" behind the beat.

And for the hip hop purists, there has been many cases where people flip the same sample - just think if one of those producers said "Man, Premo already used this, I'm gonna throw it away"

Never disregard a sound or throw away/delete a beat - The Clipse biggest hit "Grindin" was a beat that sat around un-used for 7-8 yrs before being brought to life.

ANY sound used in the right context can in theory make a good lead 2 a hit song. Look at most of this wack crunk shit. Listen to the steel drums on crank that!!!
