yup, rza is the illest producer ever. 7 classics in 4 years, who else can do that shit? The only argument for that shit is that he is wack now so maybe, just maybe the g.o.a.t. is DRE cause he's been making classics for mad years and is still going strong. My top five is Rza, Premier, Havoc, Dre, and kanye.

thats one of the main albums that really got me into analog sound. That album is one of the dopest albums i have. One thing i love about it is that even when you got the cd, it stills sounds like the shit is straight off casette or the reels. Its analog.

Oh RZA is a genius, while all the other samplers are biters, all he do is take old songs and speed them up or slow them down, he aint no better than the heatmakers, kanye, or just blaze, and he did that whole album on a EPS 16+

I'm just playing, although if you guys knew the original where RZA gets his samples you wouldn't think he was all that!!!

ummm well i never said he was "all that"... nor did i make any mention to him in my post.....but since we're on the subject, i do hold him in high regard as a producer, and as an all-timer at that.

i'm not particularly bothered with where he gets them.... i heard the o.v wright samples he used on "slang editorial", which is pretty simple and yet utterly dope and a personal classic.

to be honest, pete rock and primo get the credit that rza deserves as far as influencers of current producers.

guys like the alchemist, ayatollah, just blaze, heatmakerz, those guys all have styles far more reminiscent of the rza's cinematic soundscapes than pete rock or primo, who are usually mentioned long before rza's name comes up.

it would make absolutely no difference where he gets his samples- its all about that ear. and its all about that finished product. do catalogs of straight loops tend to leave an "eh" factor? yeah......... but ultimately, while i am initially irritated at times, i still nod my head just he same. i have seen several of the rza's originals and i am unbothered by it. i bet most people are.

i wouldnt go THAT far..... and please, explain to me how you "flip" a loop? its a loop. maybe, "he puts dope drums to the loop" but to say someone "flips" a loop is a bit of a reach.when a loop is "flipped" it is no longer a loop.

of course, maybe our definitions are drastically different.
