Emagic Sounddiver

do i need a midi in for using emagic sounddiver for editting my sound module? i only have a free midi out left and was wondering if i´d need midi in. (don´t think the sound module sends midi data back to sounddiver)

I wouldn't think so, since you'd be editing everything on Sounddiver. I haven't used it, but I found this:

thanks fade, but i read that too. they say midi interface, which actually is an in and an out-port. i mean the sound module hast to respond to certain events and without a midi in that´s gonna be hard.

Well I'm not too clear on what the Sounddiver does. Does it edit programs in your sound module? If so, then yeah you would need MIDI In.

Hey,

I've been using SD for many many years now...you need to have two way communication in order to use it. The way SD works is by requesting all the patch information from your synth and storing it on your computer, then when you make an edit it sends the info to your synth. When the synth receives the edited data, often it replies to SD to let it know that the transmission was successful.

The Oxygen is not a good interface for this as it only has a midi out, but no way for data to go from the computer back to your synth.
