Ok...I'm in need of a nice echo effect. I have a gang of plugins but have never really used any kind of echo effect. Any suggestions and or settings? I'm thinking maybe IR from waves merc bundle but I don't know what settings to adjust to give me that effect. I plan on automating the effect on one word in a sample.

Are you looking for something more like a roland space echo or a digital echo?

I was checking out rolands space echo for altiverb...I may have to try that out, funny you mention exactly what I was already looking at.

You dont need IR for echo, IR is reverb...for echo, use Waves Doubler...the presets are great but you if need need to modify them to your liking, just turn knobs. I've got something else that you might find useful with Waves, I'll try to get it posted in VIP.

Waves suck in general. Except their spatial posiioning plg, that thing is unmatched

Man, IDK I would never do a mix without Waves Studio Classics. GTR also sounds great!

Never heard tha one. Nor the signature series. But basically everything else?? pshh

Waves is the protools of the plugin world, its a solid standard. They excel in being solid, but there are more solid plugs, with better features and capabilities.

edit: and a shit load cheaper

The waves is ok, but if you have ever used a real space echo it's not the same. The new Echo in Reason is AMAZING!

But when not using reason I love Echo Boy

damn...I already have echo boy....I guess I got too damn many plugs to dig thru. I've been messing with altiverb and because you can tweak so many aspects I'm actually diggin' it. The ability get the right echo going and filter by way of it's onboard eq is dope. What I did was double the track that I wanted to echo, mute the section of that track that I didn't want to echo and just leave the part I did and it's coming out like I wanted.

I don't funk with waves plugins too often...they're resource hawgz. I'd actually like to delete them all from my plugin folder. I keep them around in case I have somebody come thru that uses them.

You could just automate the wet/dry or just render that one part then delete

Thats what Im talking about. FL has a beast of a echo...the thing is awesome! I mean its so dope that if I had another daw, I would still want it.

Ha word. Honestly echo/delays are just the signal delayed. Not too much to add that you cant get better from 1 more specialized plug that'll give you dedicated features and the option of going before or after the delay

ha ha, man Dox I don't think I have seen a day where we have disagreed on so much. :)

Check out Delay Designer or even a real space echo to see how not true your statement is.

This could be true, I like analogue/real gear/instruments more than digital... but its not too many instances where the texture of a delay will break the sound of your record. *Googling these still*
