Driving, quick string bowing sound

Hey I wanted to ask y'all advice in creating the quick string bowing sound that features in songs like Destiny's Child's 'Soldier' and Game's 'How We Do', you know the one that comes in every few bars and drives the track. There are actually two sounds i'm interested in, the quick plucked/bowed sound and the quieter drawn out bowing sound that comes before it. Is there a way of making strings sound like they are played faster or slower without pitch-shifting or is that how it's done?

Thanks

i use dirving strings....I usually find a really deep Cello, set the attack time to max so it hits max velocity right away, then add another strings section layered on top with strings that are a little higher in pitch (1 octave or use best discretion), and set the attack time to those at either max or a tiny bit slower....works for me
