Ok...this is something I just learned. Maybe you old Reason heads already knew this but I thought I'd share it for those that don't. I always knew u could load up WAV,AIFF and Soundfonts audio formats in Redrum but yo can also load rex files by the slice...I think it's pretty cool to help change up your drum patterns using the exact same drums and percussions if u use a dr rex loop as your drum pattern. Cool for layer your drums as well.

How do you do it?

how do you do it - give us a walkthrough - do you need to export each slice as an individual wav sample before yyou start?

When u add a Redrum to your rack just click on the one of the folders on channels 1-10. The same way you would add any other sample at those channels! Click on any rex file you have, when you do it'll be already broke down into the individual slices, just click on the individual slices and they'll load up in the Redrum channel. Pretty simple eh?

i like to sometimes add a dr rex player to my drums pattern. I load up a drum sequence ( or percussion) under my drums at a low level. Then i delete the notes that cuz interfeerence. When its done you get a nice extra feel to yuoe drums and it feels more full.

LoL yall funny, dude was like i just found this out, but if you wanna know the ins and outs...hit me up

lolcopter.

But nah, yeah i been doing this for a long....time. Especially with the percussion loops - i just reprogram the ones they already got with my own sequences. (congo, shakers, tom rolls).

I also do that in sampled beats, after i timestretch a sample - i send it to recycle to make my chops. Then open in redrum. And click in the samples the way i want em. Gives u that dipset style of sequencing samples.

IMO fl slicer or FL Sequencer in general handles all of that much better.
But reason is getting there...i hope
