Hey-

I'm not too familiar with Fruity, but I don't think it offers external midi control (just sync info?)

Does the 505 even have MIDI? If I'm familiar with the TR stuff, they just have CV gates control- you would have to get a MIDI-CV converter, and then get a MIDI sequencer- like Sonar, or even the new ACID, and then you're in business. As for finding the CV unit, good luck, I'm looking for one myself...

Hey,

I used to own a TR-707 many moons ago, I belive that the 505 was the 'latin' version of the 707.

It has its own built-in sequencer, the only way I was able to get it to sync with anything was if it listened to MIDI Sync coming from the computer and it was set to slave.

Here's a link to an online manual, maybe it will help:

BTW, as far as drum machines go, it doesn't get any easier than this one!

Take care,

Nick

TR505( schooly D drums ) only has DIN sync 24 ( typical roland ). I have found a simple cheap cv. that can interface a TR with midi ( control each drum ) and can still remain using the internal sequencer and sync. Its only for 606 though, the 505 is completly pcm based so I dont think It could work due difference by design. Anyway, http://www.dtronics.net . They also have a regular sync24 to midi cv. for sync'ing a TR505 with FL for a 39 euro
