I compress the drums individually and EQ everything else that needs to be individually. Next I just mix, u know reverb, panning, fx.. and make sure that the master mix is how i want it and that nothing is clipping.

THEN and only then.

I use the Mclass under the default setting and use the EQ to make the mix brighter or darker overall, and use the stereo imager to make the Highs a lil wider. Then add some SLIGHT! compression and then use the maximizer and just make sure everything doesn't sound like its being forced,

Its very simple.

Ok depending on how you track your stuff can really determine on what control you have for each individual track.

soooo... lets say you track your drums into a completly different mixer. then take that mixer and send it to one track on the main mixer. now apply a Mclass master to the drums mixer. this will apply only to the drumz. now you make your song and can add another Mclass to the total mix and basically do this to any track you want.

now here is how you play with it. Dont forget to pan your shit because compressed tracks sound like shit if the whole song is in the center of the mix soo pan everything that needs to be.

start with one track. for example.. the drumz. take the Mclass and find the appropriate setting for the drumz, lets say Hip Hop.

now open the show devices tab on the Combinator and start playing with the mix, make sure that the mix for the drumz alone sounds nice and tight and if needed add another compressor or EQ or Whatever to make you happy :)

then just repeat the process to whatever tracks you feel need the Compression or just some brightness.

basically the Mclass is somthing everyone should learn on their own to find their own sound.

Hope this Helps

well make sure that the main out put of each devices goes to the mix and that nothing gets mute'd it takes time to learn to rewire the stuff but the possibilitys are ohhhhh sooo endless.

good luck!

Here

Ok use a real drumset as a example. there is a picture attached to this post. now do you see the snare and the high hat in the center... NOPE!!!

this is how your drumz should be panned. kick in the center. high hat and snare to the right etc.

i have a template rack if you want just give me your email address and i will send it your way..

Good Luck

Damn i know i'm late, but basically kontents got it locked.

Hope u striahgt now.. One of the things most people miss most frequency is the importance of panning. the same question u asked "what? thats crazy.. kick to the right??" comes up alot.

lol u just gotta use logic and common sense and everything should peice together
