Deleting Parameter Automation

After a decade of not doing it, I finally got my hands on fruity loops, and I must say, this is a hellova software. love it so far (FL Studio X)

One thing that's tripping me out is, I often forget to disable the record button when I edit parameters, for example a volume parameter of a vst, or muting/unmuting of a channel effect for monitoring purpose. Those things then get recorded to a mysterious automation track and I never know how to erase them, because they do not seem to leave trace in the piano roll nor the pattern editor.
sometimes I manage to get rid of them, but I never know how I did it lol. Any help?

Though I don't use FL I found this:

yea that happens to me to the way i do it is you right click on the knob or mute button thats automated and click on "edit events" then it takes u to the piano roll for the automation of that button or knob. here u just go to the options of the piano roll go to "edit" then "delete all" then you should be kool

There may be something about it here as well:

That's how it's done, right there. I was working on a midi file that actually changed tempo, and I couldn't see the automation......Edit events helped that real quick...

FL Studio is an awesome program...... You'll see that you can make music fairly quickly..... And the rabbit hole for FL Studio runs deep. There's a lot more to FL Studio than meets the eye.
