DEEP Drums

If any of y'all have Luda's new CD release therapy track #2 on there w/ Jeezy, "Grew Up A Screw Up" has some monster drums on it. I've been wanting to ask this question for a minute but needed a song to show you guys what I meant, so does anyone know how to get a kick that sounds as deep as the one on that song? i realize part of it is the kick sound itself that you're using, but the sound on this song doesn't sound all that different from an 808 kick with some heavy effects on it. Is there a frequency range I need to boost to get that sound? Echo? Change the attack or sustain? Someone help me out if you know

one easy way is to take any kick sound and EQ it. Add 3-6db bump at 25-35Hz and that should do it.

yup, just as he said^ get a decent 808 sample....(not one of them bs ones)...and eq the lower frequencies...and find the frequency that suits what you are trying to achieve and boost it.... don't overdo the boosting though

Yeah Koncept thats for that advice man, it worked perfectly. Now i understand how the mainstream guys make it so the drums really hit that hard

Well on that track is too kicks layerd...

One of em is what i call a "Stomp kick"... its really deep and rumbly, and the other is just a normal "fat kick" with punch.

also try a diffrent tone on the kick to get a "deep" sound.
