I got kinda bored listening to the Hip Hop that's out nowadays so I took a little trip back into my old CD collection and came across my Cypress Hill collection. I've never really noticed how tight their beats are. Them sh*ts is straight gangsta! I havent heard a wack beat from them yet. Who produces their sh*t? I liked how they flipped that James Brown sample for "Insane in the Membrane". Who else here thinks they have some of the tightest beat ever?

right here brother, i agree they're one of the illest buncha musicians to ever have lived.......the person that makes most of their beats is Dj Muggs, this man is a fucking genius behind the boards jsut like rza and dre......

the beats on Temples of Boom also were quite sick!

Temples Of Boom has such a gritty, dark feel...and it was apparently their 'worst' album. I absolutely love it though. They way Muggs brings all those far eastern influnces too. Pure Dope....Damn so was IV.

I'm really not feeling Stoned Raiders, or the latest album Till Death Do Us Part. That dark, yet somehow soulful sound isn't there - it just kinds sounds like everything else thats out. No gritty drums and no haunting opera/wailing samples to give any atmospere like before...what the hell happened?

the first three or four albums were, in my opinion, flawlessly produced. once they hit "rap superstar" era, they kinda started slippin.....

but muggs is one of the greatest to ever do it in my opinion, and i dont give him enough praise as an influence of mine, because from time to time i tgake a listen and those beats are TIMELESS and if you ask me, "Cypress Hill" was every bit as much classic as The Chronic. it was the perfect hip hop album at the time; perfect beats, great, memorable hooks, social commentary, kept it gangsta and b boy all at once, flipped a whole song in spanish, story telling, you name it, the album has it. i should do a "classic review" or something cause this album was great.

Knew I wasnt the only one feeling them. lol...So that's who Muggs is??? Now I see why his name gets so much mention from other producers. Looks like I have a new producer to study.
Are there any other "Flawlessly Produced" albums to check out? I already have both of the above mentioned CDs.
