I just had a new computer, 3ghz, 1go of Ram, 160go of space. I got an Flat Screen LCD 19 inches. So i cop Cubase SX 3 and I used the Rewiring feature for the first time, there's already a Device that hooks Cubase with Reason. Damn, the fluidity and simplicity of hooking it up. It puts your Cubase file in the same tempo of your Reason, the loop marks became the same for both program. You can assign any instrument of Reason to any midi channel of Cubase.

And now I can directly record audio with the beat playing in the same program. Wow. And with a fast cpu it runs so smoothly. And plus i got a keystation 49e, all that in my room now, i'll be making more beats ==> Let's Get It : Producing Motivation 101!!

I didn't want to make another thread, but i have a question on Cubase SX.

I have absolutely no noticeable delay while playing MIDI . But some how, when i record MIDI, the notes are mappe a couples of 1/16 bars BEFORE i pressed it. And at one point, it was recording at the right time, but i don't remember what i did and if i did something. I put the quantazing on and off, and it still doesn't fix the problem. Anyone knows

???

I'd say check your latency if you have got probs with that.

I use the exact same setup. Cubase rewired Reason. The only thing I dislinke is when Reason is up. No matter what you do in it ( I only use it for drums ). No matter what you do in reason it takes up 20% of the CPU and it can't be turned lower.. That sucks I think.

Your setup looks nice man.
I'm sittin on 2,4 Mhrz
120 Gig
2Gig ram

But most importantly in my setup is that I have separate disks, When I'm on hte internet my musicdrive isn't turned on. Then by the flick of a key I switch disks and have only an emty disk with nothing but the musicprograms and windows. To slim the computer.

I know about the latency, but why would it be recorded BEFORE ?? That 's strange. Damnnn at you 2gig Ram. Me too I use Reason for the Drum, that RED Drum is the shit

I dunno how and why it could be recorded before. That sounds strange as hell. And yeah I think the drumprogramming in Reason works well. It has a warmer quality to it then lets say FL I think.
The only thing that buggs me is the preset 4/4bar. When I produce in 3/4 it's a hellalot of sliding and mix n matching patterns n stuff. Even worse when I made a track in timechange signature 3/4bar & 4/4bar. That was some strange mix n matching

Otherwise it works just fine

Yeah. It's managable in FL. But I don't know If it's managable in Reason. Perhaps, I just kinda assumed it wasn't.

To those of you who only use reason for drums and cubase for everything else you should seriously check out Battery 3 which was just recently released. Battery 2 was my favorite vst drum machine and now that 3 is out it COMPLETELY beats out every other drum machine. Built in effects, wav editing, mastering, modulation, etc into every single sound its really a dream come true. It however doesnt have a step sequencer so if you take the cheap way out and draw your drums you might not like it.
