criticism

over the years of making beats and doing hip-hop, i found out a lot of producers and artists, cant take critcism too good!
criticism is one of the best things that u can hear! if u are always hearing - 'oh, that beat is hot or that flow is hot' - you are not really getting anywhere, your skill level will never grow. as myself, i think criticism is one of the best tools for an artist or a producer. therefore, we must learn how to take criticism. we must have to understand, that it isn't personal... we must understand on how to accept it, and be optimistic about it and use it for a source of guidance. it isn't a put down, it's more of a stepping stone for us as artist to become better and learn more values of trade! my ears can never hear what u or someone else hear, and my eyes can't see what someone elses eyes see. therefore to accept criticism is a form of a high level of maturing in your work. to accept it and understand that he or she isn't trying to hurt my fealings. we must be able to understand that he or she is opening more doors for you or I to become better.

Not to be bigheaded but when someone gives criticism of my stuff and they themselves arent at a level (musically) that I want to be at, I find it difficult to completely value their input. Just bein honest, but criticism is a very valuable tool that people like me need to embrace more.

one must learn to tell the differnce between "constructive criticsim" and "negative talk" always stay open to constructive criticism for it may add to your arsenal of creativeness. negative just trys to kill it. the biggest problem people have is being able to determine the difference. the other is dealing with people who are blunt when they speak. when someone says that joint is "wack" alot of cats feelings get hurt real easy. which someone saying can easily be "negative talk"..if someone can give point as to why it's "wack"..then take heed of the info and try applying it to see if you're outcome is better. if so, then you win, keep it movin. if not, oh well..save it try it again another time, nonetheless, keep it movin..simple.

that is on point! it really does play a big role WHO is criticism you.and of course how the criticism is.is it constructive? or just hating and so on...

but in general yes it helps and is a great tool.ask me about it lol.

word...i think the same way...like when i listen to their beats if they are wack i'm thinking to my self.........why the fuck should i take their advice..... but yeah you should be able to tell the difference between contstructive criticism and hating....but yeah i love criticism, and hate it at the same time... cuz after a while of getting no criticism you tend to get bigheaded, as much as u hate to admit it.....

The most important part of criticism is putting it to good use.

Don't offer up your tracks unless your willing to work on the suggestions put forward. If a few people point out a specific flaw in your work then go back and fix it. I have totally remade tracks after getting feedback and for the most part improved on the original.

Use criticism as a tool, and never take it to hart. Don't ask friends for input most will tell you what you want to hear.

other people's criticism of your stuff is cool, but the only way to make it big in this game is to be your own worst critic. the day you sit back and get complacent is when a hungrier kid knocks you off.

I feel you to a certain extent. I feel like if its basically just some wack, bottom of the barrell bullshit, then that has to be said. If you cant deal with what somebody here says, how in the hell are you gonna make it when people with buying power do it?

At the same time though this site is here to help people. Give the reason why its wack and some general ideas on how to stop making wack, waste of everybody's listening time bullshit.

Now me I aint about to hold nobody's hand or baby cake they ass. We all (for the most part) are grown as fu@@. You have to admit though, just reading through some of the post, some people do hate a lil bit instead of critique. Hell if I shoot a brick let me know PLEASE! This is a big boys game at the end of the day and big boys dont pout or cry yall....
