Copyrights...how long does it take?

i want to know if it takes a long time for them to get back at you. and would it be safe to like send your beats out for copyrightin and then start puttin your product in the streets while you wait for the papers. do they often deny a copyright request?

they said it takes like 6-8 months for your certificate, but if you send a check, you will know when that check clears and you should be fine then. I sent a cd off last year, I still havent got the certificate, but that check went through in like a week and a half...so i know they got it

Exactly, I have been copyrighting for years and they are very slow, it might even be a year in some instances to get your certificate and if theres problems they call you right up, but generally if what you sent has no clearance issues, the postmark generally suffices as effective date.....or lik pboy said when ya check clears if it does...LOL
