Cool Tip for making Instruments out of common sounds like a faucet.

I have been making beats non-stop for the past week. In the process I wanted to be as creative as possible with the sounds I used while being true to the catchy verse-chorus-verse song structure.

The sounds you hear everyday, like a bird, or a faucet, are cool to sample and make into playable instruments as SoundFonts.

I sampled a faucet turning on and the water (which is noise) and layered a "fundamental frequency" underneath it, in my case a sine wave, so when I play, you literally play a "faucet with water."

I also tried just pitch shifting the sound "by ear" to what I thought was A/440, which was cool.

Either way, you come up with some pretty interesting sounds that you can actually play!

When you spread the sound over the keyboard through Vienna SoundFont Studio, it's cool.

I like it! his voice reminds me of casual...he's a good emcee IMO...the beats on that album are sick...i aint all passionate about that fool as an artist though...but it's unfair to say he's bad...he's good...and he's doing the damn thing!!!!! I cant hate on that!!!

that's cool about the faucets and shit...I'll try it...can probably get a similar effect by tweaking a sine wave on my ms2000

Freeway has some nice beats on there but his voice is killing me...ruins the whole listen for me.

Honestly, you can't really say Freeway is wack unless you've heard him in real life. You CAN say you don't like his voice, but I guarentee he's nasty at freestyling or somethin. He must be. I don't think Rocafella would sign someone just because they have a unique voice. I bet Freeway really raps on blocks and shit, and gets people hype.

freeway is hot, he's just unique I think the rock knew what they were doing when he signed him and i have a freestyle with him and beans in which freeway freaked it way better than beans did.....watchout for the knock out........

I've made them mechanical sounding beats by sampling machines that nake noise. I have also made a beat called "brushing your teeth". I sampled myself brushing my teeth, and the brushing sounds I used as a kick and snare, added a gargle, the faucet running. It sounds pretty cool

Regarding Freeway...so what if he's good at freestyling...he's voice still sucks and to me that will always ruin it...I will never get passed that.
