It's Voltron the movie

An anonymous reader writes
"Following the success of the Transformers movie, Hollywood is preparing to make another live-action film featuring giant robots from the 1980s: 'Voltron: Defender of the Universe'. The script, by Justin Marks, is described as '...a post-apocalyptic tale set in New York City and Mexico. Five ragtag survivors of an alien attack band together and end up piloting the five lion-shaped robots that combine and form the massive sword-wielding Voltron that helps battle Earth's invaders.' Let's go, Voltron force!"

but than again that movie is gonna be directed by Micheal Bey, so Imma go with slusho tho its a fake working title. and this is why http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1060277/

No cloverfield is not voltron...
Netflix says:
A going-away party in Manhattan is interrupted when a mysterious, giant-sized monster launches an attack on New York City. With camcorder in hand, a small group of friends make their way out into the chaotic streets, scrambling to stay alive. Mike Vogel, Lizzy Caplan, Jessica Lucas, Michael Stahl-David, Odet Jasmin and T.J. Miller co-star in this action-thriller produced by J.J. Abrams, creator of the hit television series "Alias" and "Lost."

Sounds more like what I posted above.

The Beast From 20,000 Fathoms..
This 1953 sci-fi classic, directed by Eugene Lourie and starring Paul Christian, Ross Elliott and Cecil Kallaway, brings to the screen Ray Bradbury's short story "The Fog Horn." The powerful force of atomic testing in the Arctic has awakened a sleeping rhedosaurus that's been frozen solid in ice, and the creature rises from the sea to exact revenge in the streets of New York. Features animation by Ray Harryhausen.
