chopping samples and spreading them out over the 16 pads on the MPC 2000xl

sup everyone.beaglin here...I was watching Pete rock on you tube chop samples and spread them out over the 16 pads of the Mpc with a Pat benetar sample and also Boon dock on the Mpc 1000 do the same..I have a 2000xl and I can sample and chop i just don't know how to spread the sample over the 16 pads..I think I could do more with my samples knowing this..I apologize for the novice question..I just need some help..I'd appreciate the help everyone..thanks in advance

you can either do it automatically with the zone feature or u can chop a sample manually and assign it to each pad... Or you can cop recycle.. create manual chops and save them as a program that spreads across the pads....

thnaks for replying fam...how does the zone feature work? I know I press shift sample and hit zone...I think..could you elaborate further fam?

well the zone feature will slice a sample into anywhere from 1 to 16 pices and if you use the auto assing when you zone a sample you can create a new program with the samples assinged to the pads automaically chapter 6 in the mpc manuall goes into detail about your options....

word, i been wondering this for a minute, been bangin on this 2500 that i found for a couple weeks now.
and FUCK FRUITYLOOPS if i wanted to sit at a desk id get a REAL job and a cubicle...lol
nah i love FL for my foundation might even go back and forth but i LOVE the 2500.

if your talking about how to just put the samples to the pads for the 2000xl all you have to do is hit zone go to the top right section that says "play x" and switch it from all to zone and after that go o the zone section hit edit and a screen saying slice sound set the end margin and your good to go hit main screen and they can be chopped on the pads
