I know this is a Hiphop producers board but i was wondering if an cats in here have expanded into other generes such as drum n bass or house etc. If so, how did it turn out?

If i were to try producing any other genere it would mos def be drum n bass. I like the intricate drum patterns and heavy bass.

drum and bass is good for rapping over too.....check out Phoenix Orion's new album. Hes a dope MC from Project Blowed.

Ive produced for female vocalists too. it was definately a good experiance. I got to focus alot on the vocals, different layering and eq'ing techniques.

Hey,

On the flipside, I moved from trance/techno and into hip hop...well, I'm sort of trying to :D

(And you're doing a great job vitaminman.) I will venture over to some of the heavy mainstream stuff, sometimes I'll do some Kid Rock type ish. I like a little R&B and I'm currently working on a gospel project with 4 young ladies that I'm really starting to like.

\I see myself in the future going toward a Dangelo, Rafeal Sadiq type vibe, but with the edge of hip-hop and hard rock. My goal is to have albums with one song on some Eraka Badu stuff, the next some Metallica type stuff , the next some Cash Money club stuff. I wanna be able to express my different sides and not worrying about conforming to the labels of music, I don't wanna fit into a box or a name. Just make "ME MUSIC" Like I got to be hip hop, or I got to be this or that. That my goal anywyay.

hmmm...interesting........rnb or dance/techno would probably be the last genere id venture into

to each his own though

good to see people are branching out though. I do find that getting into other kinds of music expands you r creativity for sure
