I believe in a person't right to defend himself, but I also believe in a persons responsibility to stay out of bad situations... so i gotta vote stupidity. Cause if you got yourself in a situation where you need a gun, you either made some bad decisions somewhere along the way or you live in Iraq. If you don't need it and you carryin it, that's just plain not smart.

Yo, my next door neighbor was a heroin junky when I lived in one of the Grimiest areas of Jersey,,,so should I have started that too? Its the same difference. No. If you runnin around the streets wit a gun, then you are just askin for trouble. You said some situations can't be dealt wit fists,,,then be smart and not get in those type situations at all. I have. I been shot at. they wasn't aiming at me they was aiming at my nigga standing next to me. We was on the main strip in my hood. He had beef and I was down. They caught us high on wet and slippin too. They coulda had us if they had some brains.

Guess what? I don't even go in my old hood that much no more. Not cause I'm shook. Its because I'm 29 now. I'm too old for that shit. I got a daughter and another one on the way. I'm bout to be married. I got a lot to live for now. I still love my niggas, but I see them at my house or their house, not some kiddie standing on the block shit.

If I make a bad decision and pump my gas at the wrong station, then you know what, God decided today was my day to go. And having heat in my back pocket probly won't save me. But anyway I damn sure ain't gonna put myself in situations where I feel a need to carry a gun.

If you carry the hammer for your own protection or your family's protection from dumbasses that want to run up and act stupid, that's one thing. But, as far as pistol whippin, pullin it out in public and flashing the steel. I think that shit is just plain retarted!!! We got alot of that going on right now. You're a fuckin dumbass and it shows how much of a pussy you are.

Point blank, if you can't handle a simple issue by just duking it out and leaving it at that or dropping the damn issue to begin with, you need some help. You don't deserve the right to have a weapon. Then again, people that make the decision to pull something stupid with a gun make the next man (like myself and any other average person) want some kind of protection from that. I would never be the type to glorify holdin heat or anything like that but I'll be damned if I will let someone take my life that easy.

This whole cycle will never stop as long as stupid people with gun's are getting access to gun's. That is what makes the next man need a gun and therefore keeps the cycle going. 1 uses it to his advantage, the other uses it for protection from that man.

You mean Charlton Heston? To answer your question, an armed populace is a check on the government. The government has a monopoly on the legal use of force, if they prohibit people from owning a gun, the populace can't rise up and overthrow them when it becomes necessary. Agree with it or not (I do), that's the reason for the second ammendment.
