That's insane. This whole thing smells of a cover-up.

No way that much damage is done and nobody gets charged.

There is obviously a double-standard. In my part of the world an off duty cop got road rage and chased down two guys for flicking a cigarette out of their truck. He tracked them down preceeded to attack them and while they were fighting pulled out a gun and shot one of the guys to death. DA won't press charges.

Crazy.

I could understand why they wouldn't want to charge the child, but the parents should take it up the keister.

I wouldn't necessarily put the blame off on the parents. Kids these days "run a muck". You can't do the parents for every time a kid F's up. The kid should be given a break as far as not being introduced to the system, but he should pay a positive price. 5 years of community service, speak to kids about the danger of playing with matches,probation til he's an adult etc. etc. I don't think the kid planed on burning up the whole city of San Diego. It was a stupid mistake and he should pay but he's still a kid. I'm not going to come down on him because he's white and if he was a minority they'd bury him. That may be true but right is right and wrong is wrong.

word. Well, basically you can only blame the parents for so much. I agree. It depends on the age. When I was 10, I knew not to fuck wit matches. Here's another example of my point tho,,,my daughter got ounched by another kid on the bus. I don't know why, but they are 5 and it was by a boy. And I think the parents are to blame, but when I was in kindergarden, I knew that to only hit when being attacked first. Regardless, the fact is the kid should have know, and parents should be teachin these kids right and wrong, but alot of parents today are not doin what they need to be as far as parental skills. But, the kid needs some sort of punishment...

I Agree, Its all on the parents to manage and controll. If that was my kid, and he didnt get punished by the City, he sure as hell would have been punished by me. I would burn every single toy that kid had and be like "See what its like to loose somthing you like..." hahaha
