CAD GXL2400 Studio Mic

I recently bought a CAD GXL2400 Studio Mic, i have it hooked up to a M-audio fast track audio interface, mapped to Cool Edit pro 2.0. I cant figure out to get sound out of the mic. I have a shure mic i plug in and it works, theshure mic has an on/off switch, the CAD mic doesnt, when i hook it up i cant get any noise out of it. Im not sure if the audio interface doesnt recognize it or what? If anybody had a similar problem or konw how to fix this problem i would appreciate it. Thanx

ok well try this:

Is the +48v phantom power turned on?? thats a condensor mic and needs it to work.

also are you using a XLR-XLR cord?? you need that type for the mic to work because well...thats life haha.

Wut is that? Would that be on the mic? or on my audio interface? Cause i think that is the problem. Im using a XLR cord.
