Buildin a small rack

...ive had a lot of luck with presonus so i think im going to keep using their products..Ive been using this little presonus audiobox usb interface and i see they're coming out with http://www.zzounds.com/item--PRSAB1818VSL ...definately wanna get this but if someone knows a better one within the price range let me kno.

i know last time i asked bout an interface on ill everyone kinda steered me away from USB but with usb 2.0 out now there shouldnt b a problem with latency (i think?).

think im gonna cop 2 eurekas and 1 of the studio channel tubes...unless u guys know of better preamps for similar prices?

now i wanna build a stationary rack for my home studio and put a slot in the top where my Maschine can fit into...Not sure how to build a rack so if someone else has a homemade one some tips would def help <<

always got good advice on ILL so figured id see what u guys think before i blow a bunch of money and end up with some bullshit ..

when u build a rack does it have to be 19 inches wide between the mounting rails or the sides :\ ?

It would to wise to do so as rack gear is a set size

nah im sayin is the gear 19 inches wide not including the brackets on the side? or thats including brackets...?

alright thanks man its gonna be probably a couple months, but im trying to build the actual rack soon...

It's 19 inches including the brackets. The gear is 17 inches from side to side, the brackets add 1 inch per side.

Actually it would be wise to make the opening about 1/8 of an inch bigger (1/16 per side centered). Ever tried to put a 2 inch dowel in a 2 inch hole? It doesn't work very well.
