a sad situation that has completely ruined our lifetime and our kids lifetime... stuff like this stays for hundreds of years... that was one of my retirement states.

this is BIGGER than just Aquaman... we would need Prince Namor, Black Manta, Orca, Tiger Shark and everyone else to put their differences aside and fix this shit... this wont be fixed while we are living... thats a fact!!!

the only people that make out on this are the farmbred fish hatcheries... they are gonna be working overtime to get fish out.

there are 12 live ROV cameras, http://www.bp.com/genericarticle.do?categoryId=9033572&contentId=7062605

the most active generally being SKANDI 1 & 2 (almost always live) and Enterprise 1 & 2... they seem to be doing most monitoring while the other ROVs perform maitenance. anyways, the live feed that relic is talking about is actually not as bad as it looks it's a plume of dispersed crude rising over the LMRP cap (which is not flushed to the LMRP completely). in any case, they're capturing apparently 14k bbl/day of oil while some estimates placed the leak as high as 40k bbl/day... do the math. they're drilling 2 or 3 relief wells which will take 3 months apparently... they're thinking about pumping concrete into those wells I believe to try and permanently seal the pipeline... I was listening to the technical briefing BP released yesterday (http://bp.concerts.com/gom/audio/kentwells_technical_07062010.htm) and it sounds like all of their viable options still involve oil leaking out into the ocean... for an undetermined amount of time... but I don't think that it's going to lead to world war 3 or the end of the world by any means... exxon valdez didn't kill us. sure this might be bigger, but come on.. this is that 2012 bs, "unfortunately, the world is just going to drag on and on"

I agree with Magna, they were saying pretty much the same thing on the news yesterday.
Apparently they are capturing half of the oil that is leaking, and they said it could take up to 3 months to fix completely.
Obama went on the offensive a little bit, and the head of BP went on the defensive a bit. I really do hope that BP does have to pay for it, their prices have been extortionate for years, fuck BP.

if i were an american i would not necessarily advocate government intervention either i don't believe any tax dollars should go to fixing bp's fuck up... i don't care if bp doesn't turn a profit for 10 years the onus is on them, and if there is any government intervention it should be paid for by the british government, i don't see how the american government falls anywhere into this whole clusterf*ck
