Four years in prison has altered the relationship between former Bad Boy artist Black Rob and the label's owner, Diddy
. After being released from incarceration this past week, Black Rob has made public his severed ties with his former boss, claiming that Diddy turned his back on him.

"If you tell me you love me and you tell me you my man, I'm going to take that and run with that," he said in an exclusive interview with BET on Friday. "When something happens to me and you turn your back on me--regardless of the situation, regardless of what we been through--I don't appreciate that…I don't respect that. If you my man, I'm going to always be your man unless you flip on me. I was under the assumption that I was family."

The rapper
was sent to jail in 2006 after failing to show up to court on a grand larceny matter. Although he is no longer with Bad Boy, and holds personal issues with Diddy, he says that he takes full responsibility for his actions. "I'm not blaming Bad Boy," he assured. "Let's set the record straight. I'm not blaming P. Diddy, I'm not blaming Harve Pierre [president of Bad Boy] for my situation. That was me. I did that. I have no hatred in my heart. I don't want to retaliate and I don't want to make any records
about Bad Boy."

Diddy has made no comments about Black Rob's release from prison.

I see both sides, BR is thinking fam means forever and even though Diddy hasn't made a comment, you know his stand will be the on the business side of things...

Never mix friendship with business.....

Ah, the golden rule...and I agree 100% but in this case it was Diddy that filled Robs head that they were fam so it was kinda fugged up on Diddys part. The business and friendship were coming from the same side...lol.

On the real...I think Diddy is a shady cat, with all the groups that he made and dropped, Im not sure that I would even want to be in his camp. Being affiliated with him would probably be the best scenario for anyone in the game but with his track record, I would never suggest working for him...lol

You ever notice that EVERY artist of his is much mouthed like he is?
Like if you aint mush mouthed he wont sign you.
I belive he str8 up got biggie killed for his own personal gain, there was a point when he could have cooled that shit down and decided that the controversey was making good money so why should he, and he wound up getting his "boy" killed.
I can never get past the visual of him bitching up and crying about getting fired.

gimme a fuckin' break. rob was in and out of the system, fucked up an opportunity many of us wished we could have and he's salty because some exec who was cool to hang with wasn't there for all those years to hold his hand. please. what is he a child?

when you do dirt, you know who will be there and who won't and you know why some can't. you also know there's a limit to expecting someone to put up with your bs. rob and diddy didn't grow up together, they didn't run around the streets prior to any deal together, and diddy didn't birth him, why expect some exec to be your 'high spar' when you don't show enough respect to keep out of jail or the pen from jump? other than whoa, what do we know about rob? that he'll be in jail or the pen on some bullshit. at least dmx actually had a career before he fully imploded

i dislike how diddy runs his business, but i won't let that shade my judgment on this story.

Call it what you want, Diddy is just another business man....only difference is that he's constantly in the spotlight....

It's a cutthroat business, everyone should know that, fam or not..

BR is one of my fav lyricists of all time. Such a wasted talent.

Getting paid for rap and he was caught stealing TVs from hotels or something ignorant.

I think Diddy, much like anyone would, turns his back on people who are doing ignorant things.

Agreed, BR was one of my all time favs also. I thought he had all the right tools in place to become a legendary hip hop artist but his stupidity cost him it all.

However you guys give Diddy more credit than I do. I know that most execs would have done the same thing but you gotta ask, what did all the other groups do to make Diddy turn on them? IMO, Diddy just does business that way, I mean, just because he's been very successful doesn't mean he's doing everything the right way.

Dont get me wrong, I'm not hating on Diddy either, he has made numerous contributions to charity, started foundations and supported many causes but you cant let the smoke screen blind you either.
