One of the big things is that newbies don't even see The Basement. Only certain people, and even then, only from those that have 100+ posts. Some people I left out for now to make sure things settle down still, others I left out because they just haven't been around in a while. I think the fact that the newbies aren't able to post in here will help A LOT with the quality of the threads.

Please remember that it comes down to YOU guys (and gals). If you don't post bullshit and don't cause trouble then there's no problem. There's nothing wrong with posting about your favorite ice cream. But if someone steps in and says they like Chocolate ice cream because of the color, then someone else says "Yo that comment offends me", then we have a problem. Everyone just get along and we'll be fine. We don't want to be strict with this section, but we will if we have to because we don't want another disaster.

I was also thinking.... If there is a division in the board between noobs n "vets", wouldnt it be appealing to put the focus on producing up a level on this site of the board. I mean, talk about real gear instead of budget talks because it doesnt brighten your perspectives. I dont want to put aside the budget users, but even for them its good to bring common sense about value for money and enhancing your kit by any budget ( but preferly the mid-prosumer ). For example, I dont see a point in posting an article about the new apogee I/O or the really nice Liquid Mix ( oh my gosh! ). See the point is, stuff like apogee brings a different level of tech and about the liquid mix...I dont think it means anything to post a machine based on dynamic convolution technology by synthefx in the hardware section... although it fucking should be.
