Who pulled off the best WORLD DMC set youve seen?

Ive only seen DMC 2001. And id have to say the winner, Plus-One, was absolutely nuts. His first juggle was off the planet. One record was on 45 and the other 33. It sounded like some drum and bass galactic shit.

The whole routine was pretty flawless....no mistakes really.

all on you...

peace

I have to be national about this and say the 2 time world champ, from Denmark, Dj Noize...he stopped competiting some time ago though...I think he's into producing now...last I heard was that he had produced a couple of tracks for Tha Liks' new album.

The best? Hmmm, that's tough. There's been so many good ones that I can't pick just one. DJ Noize's set was amazing, I watched it over and over so many times, but who can forget the Dream Team of Mixmaster Mike and Qbert? They tore that shit up. Of course Roc Raida's was dope too, he's one of my favorites.

The "BEST DMC SET" {In terms of doing some HOT ISH } had to go to "the Dream Team, Q-Bert and crew" in my opinion. I forget what year it was but it was when Q-bert had 2 other DJ's with him on stage. They used 4 turntables and made some tight beats. The following year, one of the DJ's wasn't there and I could see that they missed him but they still won the competition.

The most incredible one that I saw was when the blind kid got up there and did his thing. He wasn't all that good in terms of putting on a show but the fact that he was blind and actually made it to the world finals says enough. I gotta give him props.

And who could forget DJ Aladin, he had mad skillz. Roc-Raida was nice, Rectangles did some mad tricks...so I give them all props.

Yeah, Craze and Roc Raider are some of my favourites too.
Fade, seeing that you're more of a battle Dj than I ever was, I heard that Dj Noize's set the first time he won in 94-95 was 'unseen' before. I know that's probably overexaggerated but from your point of view, being from 'over there', how was he and how did people within the 'DMC culture' etc look at him?

Well, Noize's set was "unseen" because of the mix of wordplay and actual beat juggling and scratching. After watching his set so many times though, I came to realize that his set wasn't that difficult to actually perform. His beat juggling wasn't complex, and neither was his scratching. I think why it was so special was because of the thought and creativity put into it. He did however, really takes his scratching up a level a few years later when he busted out with some Flares during a showcase.

I think most people on the battle scene saw him as somewhat of an innovator, but then again, there was also lots of people saying he was "just ok".
