Yep processor and memory is where is counts. I'm soon to get a Intel Core Duo or AMD Dual Core laptop(this will be laptop #3 for me ;)).

Honestly man, anything with a good processor, Good amount of Ram and a good sized hard drive... You can do ALOT with just that!

co-sign... Also, if 9th wonder used a portable tape recorder, two piant buckets, and his dick to bang out drums, would you wanna do that too?

my old laptop broke so i decided to spend some serious money and get the 17'' mac book pro. it is a beast man, and whats so beautiful is that I can run windows even faster than I could on a PC laptop. i just don't see the downside of macs anymore..

u cant run FL on a mac unless u get someone to rewrite the whole program.

like exampleone said, lota ram, lota processing power, lotta hard drive space. some good monitor headphones will help give u true sound as well.

not the new intel macs. they use intel chipsets so they can process both os x, which is sick by the way, and windows natively.

there are 2 ways to do it; use boot camp, which lets you choose at startup whether to run os X or XP natively, either one at full speed, or to get this program parallels which lets you run XP inside of OS X, at about 95% speed. I haven't tried FL w/ parallels yet, but it works perfectly with boot camp.

I'm running FL Studio 6 on my Dell 630m (2GHz Pentium M/1GB RAM/60GB drive/XP SP2) and FL Studio 5 on my Dell Latitude CP (Pentium 233MMX/128MB RAM/60GB drive/Windows ME).

I could run FL 6 on the CP, but I'd lose a few sample players to the extra overhead.

... and, yes, I make music on both of 'em.
