OK, I'm not particularly familiar with microphone characteristics, so can someone tell me the quality of this mic. I'm thinking about swopping it up.

Its wide frequency response from 20 Hz to 20 kHz is enhanced by a pronounced presence boost, making equalization unnecessary in many cases. Its cardioid polar pattern, switchable high-pass filter and -10 dB pad, SPL of 148 dB and unusually low inherent noise make it perfect for close miking and extremely flexible. The B-1 also comes with a carrying case, shock mount and windscreen.
Pressure gradient transducer with shock-mounted 1" gold-sputtered single-diaphragm capsule
Exceptionally wide frequency response from 20 Hz to 20 kHz with pronounced presence boost
Transformerless FET input circuitry for extremely low inherent noise
Cardioid polar pattern ideal for diverse studio and live applications
Switchable low-frequency roll-off and input attenuation
+48 V phantom powered
Extremely rugged construction with satin nickel-plated brass body
Delivered in a rugged hard case with suspension mount and windscreen

My pops has tha same mic and i just barrowed it yesterday...
My opinion: This mic is almost too good...Its a acoustic room mic so it pics up everydam thing you can possibly think of and does it very well.
This mic is prefered more for recording live acoustic guitar and other instruments of tha same sort. It obviously can be used as ONLY a vocal mic as well...But i honestly like my sure sm-58 better with a popper stopper.

I don't like Behringer's quality control. I would recommend an AKG for that stature of mic.

thanks for opinions, i ended up swooping the Marshall MXL 990 instead.

Anyone familiar with this one? I made some research on it and it seems like a better mic. Still waitin for my pre-amp to try it out.

Yea,
I have both of those. There both worth the money. They both have a little difference in the sound but not much. The B1 doesnt really need any equalizing which is a really good thing but it sounds strange most of the time when you make a small change on the eq. Its hard to explain.

I love the 990 too though. Ludacris used the 990 on his "Incognegro" lp. I think its missing a little low-end / mid-range, but its still good.

The best thing about both of these mics is the case, shockmount, and all accesories all come with the mic and the price that means if you drop it or it breaks, it doesnt take you 5 years to save up and replace it.
