The next competition will be from September 13-14th! See the information below.

Signups

The signups will be on September 13th at around 10am ET, and end around 8pm ET, or until we have 16 contestants (whichever comes first). Voting will be for 1 day, on September 14th, where the results will be posted the same day.

Go here to signup (click the "signup" tab - it will open up on the signup day)

Theme: NONE

You can use whatever sounds you want, samples, synths, just remember to read the rules for the rest of the restrictions. What the judges will be looking for is originality, creativity, mixing skills and overall dopeness!

Voting

From now on, the voting will be by all members! If you are competing, you will be able to vote but not for yourself. DO NOT TRY TO CHEAT! I will be watching for cheaters. This means you cannot sign up under different names or get your friends and family to sign up either. If you are caught cheating you could be banned (depending on the mood I'm in).

Beats

All the beats will now be displayed in a random order and without any names. All you will see is: Beat #001, Beat #002, etc. This is so that there is no favouritism when voting.

Sponsor

This month, the competition will be sponsored by Greg Savage & DIY Music Biz, where the winner will get 1 on 1 consultation from industry insider Greg Savage on music licensing.

Rules

If you're not sure about the rules, read this thread.

If you have any comments, suggestions, or questions about the competition, please post them in here.

@Joe It usually fills up very quickly. It opens at 10am ET but there's no real best time for anyone. There's people from all around the world trying to sign up so eventually someone will miss out.

PoePockets - my fav, got a nice Young Jeezy vibe; you just need to add a hook section (i love the bright synth and it fits great mid verse but it's not enough for a hook) and get that shit to a rapper!
Wizard - 2nd to me, I love the melody, didn't like where you went with the drums however. if you want to maintain the pattern, i'd change the compression on the snares to a much faster setting (almost ridiculous settings) and maybe make the kick drum sound less mechanic. still good enough for my 2nd fave bro ;)

Finally got a chance to listen to some of these beats...

@DEEZ BEATZ Nice beat as usually... :up2: Mixing sounds really good, the beat is structured nicely too. I like the way you strip it down, and then build everything back up towards the end

@Rodas The melody/harmonies in your beat were definitely my style... I thought the drums were gonna come in a lot harder, but still digging that melody... Id like to sample that ;)

@crog85 , thank you for the props. There were so many different styles of dope ass beats, I'm really shocked that I won.
