Signups

The signups will be on June 17th at 12pm ET, and end around 8pm ET, or until we have enough contestants (whichever comes first - depending on the theme). Voting will be for 1 day, on June 18th, where the results will be posted the same day.

Theme: THE PURGE SAMPLE FLIP
Time Limit: 2 MINUTES

You must make a beat using one or both of these samples:
The Purge Announcement and/or The Purge Siren.​

• You can use the siren just in the beginning of your beat if you wish (like an intro, for example), or all through your beat. The same goes for the Purge announcement.
• You can do whatever you want to the samples, just as long as we can tell it's from the original.

You can use whatever sounds you want, samples, synths, just remember to read the rules for the rest of the restrictions. What the judges will be looking for is originality, creativity, mixing skills and overall dopeness!

Voting

If you are competing, you will be able to vote but not for yourself. DO NOT TRY TO CHEAT! I will be watching for cheaters. This means you cannot sign up under different names or get your friends and family to sign up either. If you are caught cheating you could be banned.

Beats

All the beats will now be displayed in a random order and without any names. All you will see is: Beat #001, Beat #002, etc. This is so that there is no favoritism when voting.

I'm sorry but I'm quite confused when it comes to the theme of this battle. So all I have to do is to use siren in my beat and that's it? And aside from that I can do whatever I want? Is that correct @Fade ?

Hahaha that's 27 sirens beat to listen to for voting. Tough one.

I think it's a good theme though as it calls for very dark and bloody beats. My understanding is : the rule is to use one or both of the 2 samples provided. But the THEME is "The Purge". I'm going to vote for the beat that most smells like "killing spree". Am I on the right track?

It is confusing because it's called "sample flip" whereas all you have there are vocals and siren that goes on and on. So the clearer term in my opinion would be "sample use" or something. But alright, now I know what to do. Thank you for clarifying...
