Yo...The Beat thangs sound bank has to be one of the best one's I've heard in a very long time. The sample sound quality is superior to most. I wouldn't have believed it if I didn't have them to hear for myself. Hot hot hot shhhhhh...got me amp'd and I haven't really made music in two years. They really put this together from a platinum hip hop producers perspective. Freakin drums bang HARD. Check them out if you can! So much good shhh u won't know where to start.

Word! Rolling with the sound banks in Kontakt is a mean ass set up. If u know anything about Kontakt you can feel what I'm typing. Most people I know wanted the sounds minus the hardware. Now "we got em"....SWEET. I'm sure you're "bangin out" with that RS. Big upz...

the drums and percs are good,as well as some of the guitar licks, the actual instruments....not so much.

The beat thang isn't for those who play "instruments"...it's not geared toward that. U would definitely need other vsti's for that part of your production. It will get u 85% percent toward a completed beat though. Do your synths, piano chords, strings etc with something else. Many hot tracks out there right now are made entirely with sounds from the beat thang though. Depends on the complexity of the track you're producing whether you need to add other vst's.

Actually, it is geared towards making a whole beat, that's their goal, to give you everything you need to make a track. Peep their advertising, that's what they are pushing. That's why they didn't just put drums in it, they put keys, synths, bass, guitars, strings, pads, etc. I'm just saying, the drums are cool, can find some stuff to use. The instruments not so much.

They have instrument licks, string ensembles, bass notes, pads etc etc. but you can't play it as though you have a sound module, vsti, phantom etc. You're limited in range. You can't play your own piano progression with it. You're limited to the samples and phrases the put in it. So for that reason it's not really an instrument. It's just has instrument samples in it.

Bro, have you used their software or hardware? They are not all samples, they put "multi sample" instrument in it, not just phrases, actually they don't have many phrases at all.

The "multi samples" aren't very good, but they are definitely made for playing your own progressions, that's all I'm saying. That's why they are always talking about the 8 octaves or 88 keys, and that's why they laid out the pads in a "keyboard" style as opposed to the 16 pad square layout that's common on other beat machines.

So yes, they intended it to be used like a sound module as well, only, those multi samples aren't very good. However, some of those licks and riffs, as well as some of the the drums/percs are usable :)

It's cool man, have fun with it.

You can take some of those "multi samples" and make your own sounds that are better than what they have in bt simply because most software or hardware samplers are better at handling multi sample aspects like sample looping, crossfading, etc.

No, I just started a thread yappin' about shit I have never used.......

At the end of the convo they have VERY FEW samples in there that you can actually play over the length of the keyboard...very very few. A few pads, bass, piano etc ect....for kontakt but it's still dope TO ME....just that same

And if you go back to the first post I'm using it in Native instruments Kontakt nki format...not vst form or the hardware so that should answer your question.

the Triton and Trinity had this prob many years ago when they 1st dropped... the presets were so good at that time, that no one bothered to tweak them... people just used them as they were... presets! the result? alot of the same sounds used in multiple albums... so fuck all that rich soundin shit that sound so good i dont wanna touch it... gimme the "ok" sound, and let me add my own color to it.

Actually the thread is about using sounds from btv in kontakt correct? Not about using btv or the hardware, that's why I asked the question. I'm not trying to diss you fam.

I'm just pointing out the original issue with the products themselves(the sample engine) and why the sounds (specifically the instruments they tried to create) would be more useful OUTSIDE of their software or hardware (I have both)

Like I said before, have fun with the sounds, make some bangers. That's all that matters yo.

I heard the joints that LDB had...they're pretty good...but the NKI is very limited...I might look into the actual VST and check out some of the sounds in that...maybe more flexibility would sell it...

I do need some really dope synths for my Maschine.....I'm starting to get tired of Omnisphere and Nexus be killin em with the prices of those expansions.

The Beat Thang sounds for drums are fucking sweet. Great, clean drums. Not this noisy, tail of instrument ghosting, download sample pack bullshit. Clean, hard hitting shit. However, drums aside, the rest of the sounds are ASS. Remember the Proteus box. It was like a purple ASR X Pro. Same gig. Dope drums, other sounds are ass.
