Beat Street (1984) Review

Beat Street DVD (1984) is AMAZING!
just seen it for the god-knows-what-time and i have no words...
beat street is the best & ultimate hip hop movie imo!
there are three amazing scenes:

1. sharon green+lisa counts+debby d perfrom a live version of 'Us Girls' (one of the best female old school tracks, if not the best one!). i get chills everytime i watch this scene.

2. the scene where Kenny is at home and shows his mixing\producing skills (he has terrific equipment considering the year the movie was filmed at).

3. the battle scene @ Roxy. nothing more to add. you know the deal.

forget wild style & style wars (so-so movies in my humble opinion).
you must watch beat street to understand what real hip-hop means :dj:

I 2nd that! I haven't seen that in ages. I think I saw it back in '89 or something, very good stuff. I personally think it's a must that everyone see it to get a feel for what went on back then.

What's funny is all these other movies that came out around that time like Breakin'. LOL.

What about Breakin' wit Turbo and Ozone? I know the acting is cheesy, but the break dancin is tight. I had to get that on DVD.
