beat making process done time to write

I need some help I have been trying to write a song for 3 days now and i haven't got nothing down, its like my mind is blank, and i can't think of nothing, I have tried brainstorming and still nothing seems to come out, I don't know if I got the creativity or do I just need to give it time to develope my skills.

can some one help me out please

also my main focus is to write rap and r&b songs

Have you tried it with the beat playing in the background??
That's the way I do; the type of beat usually gives me an angle and I just go from there.
Are you trying to write rap lyrics or singing??
Also, if you just started, don't give up just because you can't write something the first three days.
And don't just try to sit down to write, instead write all day long; if something pops into your mind, write it down.

Don't think so hard... 99% of the time thats from thinkin so hard, just write.... Even if its garbage keep it going... This should get the flow going and you can work from there.... It worked for me when i used to write and my homiez always do it and it seems to work... Just don't be critical of what your writing, let it come out...

Do what I used to do when I was a rapper. Walk around wit a cdplayer or walkman wit ur beats playin and a tape recorder (or even voice reord function on some cell fones now) and just freestyle whenever somethin some to ur head in the tape recorder. Dat way u can get every word and write it all down later.

People will look @ u funny in da street. But screw dem. U bout to make a masterpiece. Lol

In school, when writing essays, I was told by my teacher to just keep writing and writing. A lot of garbage would come out, but the working flow would inspire and some good stuff would come too, and in the end you just deleted the bad stuff.

I guess that can be transferred to writing lyrics...

This is what i do i sit there and i listen to my favorite CD or what ever CD that has a simular mood to what i am trying to right and try to get into it that helps me a lot, but if that does not work that you can listen to the beat over and over again and try to get into it. IF that doesn't help than truthfully you need a new track or you need to add something to that track that will make your head just nodd. I get this a lot and if it doesn't come in a few days i move on to the next project because sooner or later you will come back to that old track and be like damn why i didn't think of this before i gaurantee it.

Yo im playin, but i can make a beat without bein high. I just think its that more ideas run through my mind when im high, so i like it a little better then bein straight. And i aint talkin bout go get stoned. Cuz i cant accomplish shit when im stoned. Im just talkin bout 4 or 5 hits off the blunt. Just to get my mind goin.
