Well...I have a question

I'm pretty new to the bass game and I seriously am lost according to how this thing works.
I just have no clue how to make bass in general. Most of my songs have bass in them, but they're mostly samples in which I chopped up and EQed and filtered.

The thing is that how do you make bass in Fruity?? I have tried to mess with the TS404 but that all comes out very robotic and electronic sounding. Is there some program that I should know about or what?? Because I'm cool with everything else...I just need to get the bass part down...which I'm pretty weak at.

the key to bass like anything else is to start with a good sound, if you start with a bad sound then the finished bass could always have been better ! go and collect samples or get some decent soft synths to use for bass !

i disagree 'markn'. some of the best bass ive made has begun with a really dull or muddy sounding bass. i agree it helps to have a nice original sound but i dont think its essential.
and 'that' kid try using compression. not too heavy. bass has a hug dynamic range and ultimatly thats wat a compressor combats. try using it both as an insert and as a send. the advantage of the send of course is that you can blend some of the compressed bass with your original.
the other tool i use on bass (besides EQ of course) is a low pass filter. i cant tell you how to use it cause it varies with every sound but get yourself a good filter and practice.
