how do i make bass lines for my tracks? what is the most common way? what is a synth?

Synth is short for synthesizer.

Its pretty much, a keyboard with built-in sounds.

What are u making beats with? Hardware or Software.....If ur using Fruity I can help...dont know much about nething else

I make my bass tones on a MicroKorg Synth as there' lots of easy to use settings + u can save them on it too.. Then compress them a bit, (usually on Cubase cause its easy!) and load them up on the MPC. Id probably mono it then and tweak it a bit. Then, 16 Level it for tone (cant remember whats its called but not velocity, the other one!) then play about till somthing sounds good!
