I been here a 2 years and I learned alot of shit, and to tell you the truth I never made a beat before in my life I just came here to learn beat making, and software, and recording before I even thought about making a beat. I just want to thank fade and all of yall for dropping this knowlege in me. I feel that I am ready to buy my first peice of equipment now.

I'm just wondering about, well...

- (just what PGyal just said...) will it become strictly MPC/Akai products (cuz if it is, people will jump out the boat like it was the Titanic)...

Part of what made this site great was that people using different methods and software/hardware where comming togheter to talk about production as a whole... Mostly half the people here use software (wheter it's Reason, Cubase or FLStudio) and some of us are not about to change for an MPC (I do have one, but that's not the point) and also...

- Will the site still be free?
- Will it be flooded with publicity from Akai?


Actually as long as those things dont change, everything is all gravy! But, for real, congrats Fade. That's a great move.

I dont think it will be completly akai or mpc based simply because one who ownes a mpc is not limited to using the mpc only, its a tool in your setup so there are many situations that raise questions as how to utilize it to the user's demand. If the board was only about mpc's or akai products ( in that they would "censor" other brands hardware or software, kinda like the emu boards ) they wouldnt serve much of a purpose to most of the mpc users or soft/hard-ware users. So i dont think they'll change that much, this site is running nicely now that there's less BS going on and more focus towards what its all about...it aint broke, dont fix it...

I still hope can keep the name, if theyre chaning the link I assume there will be a different name to the board so fade can keep the name ? Or is it now that illmuzik has been linked so much in regards to mpc that the 2 just go together, because why didnt they buy www.mpc2000xl.com from M@midicase.com ?

Here's a thought....if Akai is buying the site, and changing the URL, why cant Fade just keep the URL we have right now and we can all just stay here lol....JUMP SHIP!!! lol

I hope things don't change, but I have a feeling undoubtedly they will...Hopefully for the better but again, I doubt that. Personally, I don't use Akai products and think MPC's are just overpriced and under-featured computers...But hey, maybe Fade worked out a deal to hook up all the members who have been here for 2+ years or something free MPC's!!! HAHA...I'll jump on the bandwagon in that case!!
