quick question,
I've had my site (www.YourAverageCrew.com) for like 3 years now, and I want to switch the hosting. I know that to do this, i have to change the DNS nameservers or sumthin like that....
uhmm, how do i go about doing this if i forgot my info? or am i totally fucked?

Hoppa your domain is registered thru Godaddy (They are a registrar)
and according to your DNS records your nameservers are currently on the two servers below.
NS1.WESTCOASTCOLO.COM
NS2.WESTCOASTCOLO.COM
those nameservers hold the domain record that points to "www.youraveragecrew.com"

what you need to do is at your your new host find out what their
primary and secondary nameservers are....
example...
ns1.yournewhost.com
ns2.yournewhost.com

then put in a change nameserver or DNS nameserver request at godaddy
that will replace the ones above....and it usually takes 48 -72 hours...once you make the change...

...now if you registered thru godaddy sometimes they like to put you into some administrative loop and increase the time period that your domain refresh is.....
meaning they might not easily let you switch....this isn't always the case but it can happen so you need to hit up godaddy....talk to them, have them insert Your new hosts nameservers for you after you get the information.....

now, If i have 2 separate web sites registered with 2 different companies, can i host them both on the same server/hosting account? or do i need to make 2 separate payments for 4.95 a month?

Sure you can. That's the way I have IllMuzik Radio setup. What you do is have 2 domain names - that you have to pay separately for of course. But if your webhost allows "subdomains" then you're set. All you need to do is create a subdomain on your account (it creates a folder inside of YourAverageCrew) then you contact your host and tell them you want that 2nd domain to point to the subdomain you just created.

Let me know if you have any problems with it, it's easy though.

My main site is brokencomplex.com
I created a subdomain for your average crew via the control panel. It created a new directory for Youraveragecrew.com in my folder list. I placed Youraveragecrew.com in this folder, and the only way i could see the page on the web is if i typed www.youraveragecrew.brokencomplex.com
thats weak.
today @ work tho, i would just type youraveragecrew.com and the site came up fine... but now im back home and its acting weird.
any advice?

Well first off, did you call the subdomain 'youraveragecrew.com'? With the 'com'? Just call it 'youraveragecrew'. No caps or anything, all lowercase. Put all the files for that site in that folder. Then contact Jaguar by filling out a 'ticket' and ask them to point the domain name 'youraveragecrew.com' to the subdomain you created.

It won't work on its own, you have to get Jaguar to point the name to your subdomain. It's very easy, it happens right away.

I have my Template index.dwt file, which is the file i open to change my topbar/sidebar, and i have my inde.html file, which is my home page file... Im trying to change the Template file, but it is not showing the changes when i check the site! what gives?! all my directories are the same and its not working! any suggestions?

of course! ive checked them on the server and they look right, except it doesnt change when i view the site! even when i press F12 and preview the file, it looks all good...

im thinking that for some weird reason the site isnt recognizing my .dwt file as the template or something..... shit!
