Aspiring beat maker

Hi I'm new. I'm going to start learning about making beats.

The first beat that caught my ear is kinda corny but I think it's classic, and that would be Gangsta's Paradise. That was a long time ago and I thought that beat on it's own was very powerful. Then fast forward to about year ago when I started liking rap, I saw a live version of Nas doing Ether, and I just thought the heaviness and the whole thing was amazing. After that I started noticing the musical aspect of rap more, and now I think it's a very cool artform because literally anyone can do it. I like Alchamist, some Premier, Kanye, Havoc etc...

My own background is in classical music... I'm a clasically trained violinist and I'm a good rock guitarist. I have a lot of knowledge in rock (ranging from the Beatles, to the 70s, to mostly the modern British rock), but most of my background is in classical music.

I hope I can learn a lot here. It looks like a cool place.

You're right, it is corny but I'm not judging. Welcome aspiring beat maker!

Yeah man, Welcome. I also like the classical music. Just the new form of it, I mostly listen to cimenatic scores. That lovely artform has completely gone by many people.
