went to musikmesse (german namm) yesterday and had the chance to work with this. it's a nice tool, draws you in quickly and gives you quick results. plus the software has a good sound / good stock sounds. the song mode is a bit weak though, no automation of master parameters like mute or volume settings across patterns. Will be about 500€/700$.

I think it's interesting, I definitely like the control features but the only problem is, Maschine has this market on lock right now and if it doesn't blow it away both in price and functionality then it's pretty much a waste imo.

yeah, it's definitely inspired by maschine sales, to say the least. but i like how this will push maschine development even more. seeing the 404 in your pic, man, i fell in love with the filters. the isolator is NUTTZ!!!

I really like that it's portable, I've been recording "live" sounds with it and I'm gonna start incorporating some of that into my work. I recently recorded a thunderstorm from my deck, it came out very good so look out for that.

Yeah, Roland was really good for their iso's and filters, I luv them. Man if you like the 404, the 8800 will blow your mind. It's got a ton more and super clean compared to the 404. But anyway, I'm about to break out Maschine pretty soon and see what it does first hand. I think I need to update it to 1.6, mine came with 1.5.

Not my cup of tea...... reminds me of an updated SP.....

I'd rather have more range of creativity on the fly with more pads.....

that grit is what i like it for. right now i use it as an amp on my comp's interface out and record the signal back in. that was the best 200$ spent in years.
btw, maschine doesn't allow for master automation too, the "song mode" is still very limited. but i stopped complaining about what it can't do, and focus more on its strengths.

Yeah, I know that... that does suck...but at the end, anyway...I load the whole thing on protools and do my automation that way......I even did that with FL Studio...even though they had that option....

I think once people realize that spark is not anything like Maschine, (even though it's a hybrid, they've been doing that for a while with analog factory) and see spark is more of a straight up drum machine, it will please it's users. It's hardware is amazing, feels and looks like the Origin synth.

Anyone expecting it to be a sampler/sequencer along the lines of Maschine will be disappointed, but if you're looking for a digital/software hybrid drum machine, then you may really enjoy it. It does some cool stuff.

Most definitely not a Maschine replacement though, they went in a different direction with it imo.
