Are you a gadget freak?

I just got the new htc touch pro and Im really liking it. While going thru the learning curve of a new gadget I realized how complex this PDA really is. Question is... Does anyone really
need a phone like this? Its so much like a laptop that you might as well be using one. The only difference I see is that a PDA has a phone. The rest is virtually the same. Do you all buy gadgets just because or do you find them to be a real necessity to own?

i love new gadgets. Now wifey is working I can stay on my gadgetry. Cleverwon is a huge gadget freak. His house is like Wayne Enterprises science division. I think one of his remotes makes popcorn! lol

You don't need a phone at all. With that being said, once you start getting into PDAs and smartphones, its the end of the road because once you lose or damage that phone its gonna be tough to "function" without it.

hehe, word, dont need pda or iphones, in the end it does less for what i want when shit needs to be portable.

I definetly "need" a smart/pda phone ... I handle business on the go all the time
and having access to the net to do paypal transactions, aim chats about business,
check up on news/sourcs, etc ... Some people just have simplistic slow paced lives
to I guess ... If I had to wait to do somethings all the way until I got home and and
sat down ont he pc or laptop productivity would slow down for me.

i don't think that any of them are necessities until you actually get into the habit of using them. i never felt the need for a blackberry until i actually got one, now i can't function without it. makes me wonder how i ever got through college back in the old days (class of '98) before everybody and their mama had cell phones. damn, i remember still having a pager in '98. LOL!
