most synth are fake and use samples wich in great quality fuck up my ram space for example akoustik piano or garritan personal orchestra.they are fake synths because they dont really emulate the instruments they use samples.when i load them it fucks up my ram space i got only 512mb ram.its fuckin slow and needs lots of time loading up etc. that fucks up my workflow.

real synths like korg legacy or reasons synths are emulating the sound WITHOUT samples that saves a lot of ram power for me and works fine.are there any other REAL synths for acoustik instruments outthere?

i already know native instruments collections and lots of other but the prob is the most are SAMPLE based even kontakt sampletank etc...

plz mention only REAL synths with acoustic sounds that are not sample based. thanks in advance.
i hope reason and korg are not the only options.

piano, organs, guitar, bass, orchestral, man just as much as possible all in one soft synth if possible.mainly accoustic ones.

ps i dont have a mac.i know logic has some great build in synths.

akoustik piano or garritan personal orchestra are not really sold as synths.
More like samplers. If you want acoustic instrument to sound good you need the samples.
A synth plugin will really never produce good sounding acoustic instruments.
Buy more ram.

But I will say Korg M1 has some nice piano sounds for it's size.I would get that one.

Other nice synth base instrument

thanks so far iam a try out thos mentioned.but need a greater collection.
i know the most acoustic stuff works with samples in the softwareworld. but hardware synths like tritons, motif, fantom, work wihtout it and dont need load up and works real fast.
iam searching sumtin like this in softsynth? it must be sumtin outthere.

Check out Applied Acoustics. Their stuff is based on phyiscal modelling, not samples. The lizard lounge plugin (for e-pianos) and string studio (for guitars/clavs and other crazy sounds) are my favourite.

You should look into upgrading your ram though, 512mb is a little too small.

thank man.ill chek it out afrique.

will the sample based instruments work smother with 2gb ram and load up faster its really annnoying for my workflow waiting on instruments to work i need them right away u know.anyone? iam starting to think that only hardware like tritons, fantoms, motifs will give me that.but they are fuckin expensive iam a start to save and collect lol.

edit* wow Applied Acoustics products could be an option good looks iam playing with their demos right now.i fell in love with the e-pianos they give me huuuuuuuuge inspiration.

yep, they do have a very nice set of rhodes. the analogue synth product is also fantastic!

for real, ram is cheap.

yep but will it run smooth then? the most boring stuff is waitng on a sound to loud.

the sound of th e-pianos/rhodes are the best i ever heard in my life.iam checkin the other products from them too.

edit* the analog synth sounds nice too i wish they had more presets on that.

the more ram the better, it will run more smooth. but you also have to consider the cpu, soundcard and hdd rpm. All these play a part.

1gb ram, 2ghz or more cpu and a decent soundcard along with a hdd with 7200rpm should it. The big libraries wont load up instantly, but it should only be a couple of seconds.

hehe yeah the rhodes are great, i think they match the motif es/fantom x rhodes in terms of quality.

Yo dog. . . a synthesizer MAKES the sound electronically (or digitally on software) and in most cases you wont get a true sounding piano for example.. sounds created and fake, cuz it is.

The VSTi that use samples tend to be able to replicate the real instruments more accurately because, it uses wav samples from the actual instruments themselves, multisamples.

just a question on a sidenote do tritons, motifs, fantoms, emulate/creat digitaly real sounds or are there sample based or maybe both? cause they got no loading times like the fucking soft samplers

If u know how to program synths, u can create anythin u want on a Motif/Fantom/Triton.
They all have sample based and synthesized sounds.

keep in mind that's hardware, dedicated hardware at that which is why the sounds load instantly. the soundsets are heavily compressed, like 256-512 MB for everything...a simple piano patch in some VSTs are bigger than that alone...

i think one of the closer VSTs on the market to what you get from these 3 would be Hypersonic 2, everything loads very quick and sounds good.

Ram wont make any program load up faster, that depends on the speed pf your processor, however yes it will greatly improve how a sampled instrument will perform as these depend on the samples to be loaded into RAM as oppossed to the much slower virtual memory. If you get annoying audio drop outs and breaks when using vst's like Akoustik Piano - u need more RAM, If you are waiting to long for programs to load - u need a faster processor!!

Hate to be the one to break this to you, but Korg Legacy Digital (M1 and Wavestation) DOES use samples. The only acoustic sounds you're gonna get out of Reason are sampled sounds.

What you need are physical modeling plugins. They use complex algorithms to recreate sounds instead of samples. The problem, however, is that they may also tax the hell out of your CPU if you use many of them.

The Triton, Fantom, etc all use samples! The reason they load so fast is because the samples are compressed and burned in ROM, access times are next to zero because their OS has direct access to them. Some of these boards DO have physical modeling synths sections, but the vast majority of their sounds come from samples.

Give me the specs of your PC and I can give you some recommendations for sound sources.

edit: Forgot this - You may want to look into Soundfonts. I have the old Emagic EXSP24 plugin for Win32, and I have a fairly large library of sounds in SF format. Because SF is limited to 32MB per file, load times are near instant. With the EXSP24 plugin, you drop the files into a directory, have the vst convert them, and they come up quick as hell, even on an old machine.

You're quite wrong. RAM WILL help apps load faster by reducing the a OS's use of it's page file. The page file is virtual memory, when your PC runs out of physical RAM, the OS resorts to using a file stored on your hard drive as RAM. Even if your PC is equipped with screaming fast hard drives (my 10K RPM U160 SCSI drives are extremely fast compared to ATA133 or SATA), using the swap file is still far slower than real RAM. Windows, being the retarded OS that it is seems to always place a part of itself in virtual memory. Years ago, you could force it to use physical ram only, buu that doesn't seem to be an option anymore.

The more RAM you have, the less Windows uses the swap file. Programs will load faster, Windows will run smoother.

The other side to that is needing faster drives/drive controller. If you're still running ATA33 or 66 drives, it's time to get an ATA133 card for your PC (assuming you have ATA100 or 133 drives). You could also get SATA for it or SCSI, but use SCSI as an absolute last resort. It's the fastest stuff on the planet, but it's also terribly expensive. I have an old ass Packard Bell Cyrix M2-300 (233MHz) machine that got a serious boost of speed when I added 256MB RAM, one of my u160 cards (Adaptec 19160), and a pair of 9GB UWSCSI drives in it. You'd be hard pressed to believe it was only 233MHz thanks to added data throughput.
