Another question about Logic 8

Ok, so I got through my first little bump in the road thanks to the information given in the last thread I made, now I have ran into something else. So I put in the drums I wanted in the song I am remixing, but now I need to figure out the scale and notes of the original song, and I am pretty sure logic has a function that will tell me what all this information is, but I have no clue what the technical name for it is so I am having trouble looking it up (I have the Logic instruction manual, and a book on logic 7 "Logic Pro 7 Power!"... which I dont know why school gave the logic 8 software and a book on logic 7 but whatever). I am still not real good with listening to a song and being able to tell what note is being heard and on what scale, etc. other wise I wouldnt be asking. If it helps here is a link to the song.

Yes, I need the know the notes for the whole song. And just as a little teaser, I found the synth from lollipop and whatever you like in Logic and im using it to remix this song (with some added effects of my own), and what I have so far sounds fucking ill but now im stuck.

Dont know if anyone here plays video games, but this is song is from a game that maybe some of you know called Xenogears. Right now I am working on a Mixtape that is going to consist of remixed game music, or sampled game music so that is my current project, wish my luck and thanks to anyone who can help me out.

If what you mean by scale back the notes is just making the duration of the note shorter - then yeah, thats very easy.
You need to open your hyper editor and then find your midi notes in there, after u find the notes, simply click on the note u want to scale back and drag in the desired direction.

As far as wanting to know every note played in the song you just posted, the easiest way is to try and play along with it inside logic with a instrument track. It sounds like in most of the song hes just playing simple chords and embellishing them a little bit.

I know chords pretty well, but im not good enough to just listen to a song and tell u what chords Im hearing. I can tell u if its in a minor key or a major, etc, but the actual chords at least for me have to be played out in tandem to understand what the original musician did, so try that.

Hope that helps.

Well I got a little more information (the official sheet music for the song)

http://www.squareenixmusic.com/sheetmusic/originalscore/xenogears.shtml

just check out the "faraway promise" zip link and it will show you the sheet music. I dont know if that helps at all, but now comes my next question, how do I put logic in sheet music mode, so I can just enter the notes in that link that way, I remember my teacher showing us how in class but I forget exactly how to do it, im not even sure if it will translate over the way I am wanting it to. I havent been able to work on this and its pissing me off, haha well hopefully ill figure it out soon.

You have to use the Score Editor. If your not familiar with the Score Editor you should read up on it in the Logic Manual.

But if u got the sheet music u can just copy what u see verbatim to the score editor. Shouldn't be too complicated, it will take u some time tho.
