Another MPD16 Question

ill o.g.
Im still tryin to learn about MIDI and all that but i dont know all the things you can do with it yet. SO i have a question. If you got a keyboard as the center of your studio, you probly have the problem where you get annoyed cuz the keys make you push down to far before the sound goes. With the MPC Pads, the pads dont move. You just hafto tap them. With keys you hafto push them the whole way down so you dont always get real good timing.

I heard the MPD16 has MIDI Capabilities. Does this mean that i could somehow hook my EPS16+ to an MPD16 through MIDI, and have the MPD16 trigger some of my samples?

THANKS,
PEACE

Yeah. that's what I've read and heard about, too, but I've read no testaments on how intuitive the MPD-16 is with keyboards. Everyone can tell me about how well it works with computers, but no one seems to be using it with a keyboard that I've heard from or know of. I was considering the MPD-16 myself instead of a 2xl to MIDI it to my EPS-16+, but never got the facts on its use with keyboards, so I didn't take the chance. Got a 2xl instead and my eps is starting to get dusty, lol. I'm going to MIDI it up soon anyway.

I read a user account on www.zzsound.com and tha guy said that he uses it with his triton apparently....He didnt go into much detail tho.
As far as prgming yer drums with a midi controller, which is what it sounds like yer lookin for: Yeah it would be preferably better to have somethin with pads versus punchin yer keys...Tho, dont knock it till you try it cuz i use my OX-8 all tha time to write basslines as well as trigger all my samples and play tha drum score in my tracks....Tha timing situation isnt as complicated as u made it out to be in yer head. Everything takes practice tho so yer not gonna bang out a top notch drum track in seconds on tha first time most likely but you can get real good at it pretty fast.

As far as options: theres tha MPD-16 like u already metioned and theres also tha KORG MICROKONROL; which combines tha pads and tha keys in one and as a bomus feature u get assignable sliders and pots that u can use to control, say tha mixer in reason for example....But dotn forget, if yer up for tha challenge, there is always tha option of simply hittin tha keys on yer midiboard too to do tha same exact things....

This all basically comes down to preferences.

Deuce,

Whats MIDIBOARD?

Thanks for you guyss replies. Im abou to get my own MPC2000 to use wit my EPS16+, and the MPD would just be a waste of $200 if im gonna already gonna have the MPC. But the thing about bangin drums when i was only usin the EPS16+ was the keys feel like there about to break (never happened but it always feels like its about to). And the keys are real loud. On the MPC's pads its real quiet and i can hear thew music better but thanks for the help.
