I don't know about yall... but I'm in a financial shithole up to my grandchildren's elbows. I got in an accident, Kanye-style, on March 13th, 2003. Only had liability insurance, no health coverage, and I'm stuck with around $9,000 of bills.... thank god my girlfriend was pushing me to work on getting my arm back to strength ( i got a metal plate in it)... I couldnt afford physical therapy. I'd be FiZzLucked if it wasn't for her. ANYWAY.... yeah, I'm goin to school full time, working 40+ hours a week, and I dont give a duck, ima go ahead and donate. PLUS ima donate for you heads that are too busy buying ebay sample cds instead of giving fade the means to support our addiction. We owe it to him. I been checking the site incognito for around 6 months before i signed up for squid. It's time I pay him (and everyone else) back in any way i can.

HAHA..... I got a metal plate in it, not metal plated......I can do damage with it if I shoulder-slam something, but I think my broke ass socket would take more damage though.... It sets off the metal detectors where I work at, which is cool.. and I got a Neat-O Scar from the shit.

first off, its great to see the site growing and there has been a surge of new beatsmiths on the board, and we have gotten great reviews from you guys..... i have heard it said by more than a few that his was the best site they had seen yet, and thats a good sign that us, and our staff especially, are doing something right.

NOW....
if all youwant to do is get your lil 40 posts and enter the Beat This! comp, go elsewhere- that is a membership perk, and this ISNT a forum thats here just to get your tracks heard, although that is a PART of what Illmuzik is here for- but its really for its members. its about establishing community, and if you dont want to be a part of the community, please go elsewhere. :finger:

the battling is a great thing; its a foundational piece of our culture. but again, that isnt the emphasis- thats why we have the two comps.
IF YOU FEEL A NEED OR WANT TO BATTLE, remember that you dont need to badmouth someone in the forums to call them out- or even call them out at all in a forum; you can pm someone and issue a challenge, and i am sure Fade would be more than happy to set up a thread in the showcase. you can battle without there having to be an actual conflict.

contribute what you can financially! this is a challenge issued to everyone on the site, old and new- myself included. its time we begin to take ownership of this site. there have been a few major ideas brought into play, but in order for this site to REALLY take hip hop to the next level- at far as getting heard, having resources available, things like that- we will need MONEY rolling in to accomplish that. i would venture to say that 5 bucks a month apiece would go a very long way....

and lastly.... to the new guys, have fun! share whatever knowledge you have! give feedback when you post a beat of your own, show respect to the older heads, and do a search for questions like "whats better, hardware or software?" or "whats an mpc?", because these types of questions have (usually)been answered somewhere in here.

if you have a problem you cant solve and there is no answer already on here, pm God and vitaminman (just playing!)... but seriously, ask away: we are here to help each other.

Didn't know where to post this but I got a suggestion about the showcase thread. Why not make it a longer than 2 days? Because I'm sure a lot of the new people here like me that have just picked up a love for producing are sometimes getting annoyed that they don't get as much feedback as others because we're new and because of the threads only staying up for 2 days. Like with one of the showcase threads, I posted my very first beat in it and only got hit with feed from about 3 people. And I know part of the reason why I'm not getting as much feed is because I'm not hittin ya'll back with some back, but when I saw others giving their opinions on the beats in there, a lot of them seemed to skip over me when I was about a few posts above them and instead feed on the other beats that were posted and I was really lookin forward to what people would say cuz I mean, I wanna get better and grow from the help of other producers that are more expierenced than me. And since I get looked over in one of the showcase threads, I have to wait and repost it in the other ones. Felt like I'd express myself and for those others that feel the same way.
