Yeah what was it about "halftime" that shook the momentum of ILLMATIC?

I feel the same way, I mean I'll listen to it and now in retrospect I can respect that track more because of the lyrics (blazin) but there was always something about that track that made me want to skip it, when every other song got me hype.

THE ONLY SONG I SKIP ON ILLMATIC IS "LIFES A BITCH" WHICH IS ALSO A CLASSIC BUT IM RARELY IN THE MOOD FOR THAT MELLOW SHIT, AND L.E.S IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE PRODUCERS.

In regards to Illmatic, I would have to go with Guevara, Halftime is a classic and should I ever skip a track on that CD (which I doubt would happen), then it would be "Life's a bitch".

Also, I would add Gang Starr's - Hard To Earn (hey, I just found out that it's 2 words, both on the new CD and couldn't find it online because I wrote it as one...have I always been mistaken about this?), Black Moon's - Enta Da Stage, Group Home's - Livin Proof, Das Efx's - Dead Serious and as Holmzini mentioned, Raekwon's - Only Built For Cuban Linx

Everybody has a good list so far. I like Copenhagen's the best so far. Das Efx was the first tape I bought with my own money along with Special Ed and Supa Star is my all time number one song. That came out my sophmore year in high school and it was my theme song. I burned that tape single up in my deck cause I played it so much. Same thing for Brooklyn Zoo.
