well imagination and determination is great dude.

try diffrent hardware/software setups then get used to one and understand how it works.then some piano lessons would be very usefull if u are a composer.if u wanna go the sampling way u gonna profit from it too.listen to your favorites track and understand how they work how they build up and try to use the technics and look for instruments choice that been made.from there slowly u will create your own style.good luck.
